Cut It Out!

With exposed patches of skin at the chest, waist, back, and everywhere else, it's clear that the cutout is having its moment this Spring.  It's a new provocative way to dress that's strategically sexy.  Subtly discreet, these peekaboo fashions are overtly sexy, without being trashy.  The best part about these fashions is that there's a cutout look to suit every style.  Whether you prefer something bold and drastic or reserved and sophisticated there's a peekaboo look for you.  While this may be one of today's most revealing fashion trends its up to you to show a little or show a lot, depending on your style. To wear this trend right I recommend choosing solids, which will emphasize and display the cutouts to their full advantage. Prints will also look great if the cutouts are large. Whichever way you choose to wear your cutouts, remember that the trick is to always keep them wanting more, so don’t go overboard with this trend.
Cutout clothing might seem tricky to master, but I love the trend for its versatility and modern appeal. Cutouts allow you to show off your best assets without exposing too much. And when done right, the trend can be both sexy and sophisticated. Whether you like to highlight your arms, back, neckline or shoulders, choose a cut that will flatter your body for a confidence-boosting fashion forward outfit.

Miranda Kerr
Side slits
This type of design is particularly flattering as the cutouts hit right at the smallest part of a woman’s midsection. Keep the jewelry to a minimal with this look and let the dramatic cutouts speak for themselves.

Kylie Jenner
Kourtney Kardashian
Bare shoulders
Bare shoulders offer a subtle take on the cutout trend. These tops are a great option because they balance revealing arms with a high neckline and long length. Complete these looks with a leather skirt and pumps for an edgy nighttime outfit or jeans and leggings for a more relaxed daytime look.

Detailed Neckline
Kelly Osbourne
A contrast yoke and matching middle insets lend graphic punch to this tailored stretch dress. The fit is not only flattering with its slimming panels, but it combines graphic shapes with a sleek black color for an all around trendy outfit. Top it off with simple black or metallic pumps for a sophisticated look.

Taylor Swift
Open Back
Turn heads by revealing your back! There are so many different shapes that can be edgy, flirty or playful on the back of dresses that everyone can find something to fit their personality.  Taylor Swift looked like a Grecian goddess at the 2013 Grammys in this white J. Mendel gown accented with metallic sequin-embellished cutouts baring her back.
