Rain, Rain, Go Away! A Guide to Staying Dry in Style.

Even if it's raining cats and dogs, you can still remain fashionable while walking through the puddles.  Never settle for less than stellar footwear- even if the weather is crummy.  Long gone are the days when you could purchase rain boots only in black or neutral colors. Today's rain gear styles include high heeled cowgirl boots and loafers in prints from plaid to polka dots and stripes and a myriad of color combinations you never dreamed of.  This season brighten gray days from the ground up with footwear that's cute, colorful, and of course waterproof!  These boots were made for sloshing! Function truly meets fashion with the season’s hottest trend.
Most stylish women are less than enthused about wearing galoshes- because of their ultra-casual look they're hard to pair with most kinds of outfits.  I promise, however, you can look flawless by wearing this footwear.  Just take a little inspiration from the styles I've shown below.
Hunter and Burberry are the best established brands in the world of wellies or rain boots.  But if you're shopping on a budget you can find great boots at affordable prices at Target or Kohls.
  • Practical ladies can put a spring in their step with fun wellies for under $30! Target’s selection of rubber boots keep feet and pant legs dry with a range colors, prints, and patterns.
  • If you're a cowgirl at heart, check out the offerings from Kohls. Their cowboy rain boots will rope you in and keep your feet dry.
  • From 5th Ave to Rodeo Drive, high-end heels have a waterproof twist! Marc by Marc Jacobs takes rain wear to a new level with a round toe, stacked-heel rubber boot. These pull-ons are the latest must-have for trendsetters and celebrities.
Rain boots are meant to be bright, bold and a lot of fun, so don't take yourself too seriously in them. They should also show off your legs, so wear them with shorts, skinny jeans, or leggings--nothing baggy!  I love rain boots with shorts. Denim cutoffs work best, along with a long sleeve top, but keep it casual! I also think it's fine to wear them shopping, on errands, and pretty much any place, but the office (unless you have a casual dress code).  The very tall height and sleek rubber of Hunter boots makes them look endlessly chic when paired with a flowy dress and a cardigan.
Whether you’re stuck in a downpour or a drizzle, this year-round closet staple will certainly help you make a stylish splash.   Indeed, the best way to sport the chicest Spring look is to complete your rain boots with a fabulous rain coat and a stylish umbrella. These two accessories guarantee the smashing effect even if the weather is gloomy.  Choose from the endless selection of colors, patterns and styles till you find the one that best represents your personality and style.
