Dior Diorific Lipstick in "Diva"

The classic red lip took a dark turn this fall- burgundy at Vera Wang, dark ruby at Dolce & Gabbana and black raspberry at Louis Vuitton.  I find it to be such an elegant, wintery color and it's a beautiful contrast against any skin tone.  In my experience, however, the trickiest part about wearing such a deep lipcolor is getting it to stay on the lips.  Fortunately, the newest versions are made with just that in mind:  Armani has created a luxurious balm-stain formula for its new lipsticks and Chanel's new iteration of Rouge Coco Shine is an even more pigmented version. In my own experimentation, I've found that to give your red (or any other color) more endurance you can layer.  For example, put lipstick over pencil for a matte finish, or gloss over lipstick for something shiner- this makes the color even more dimensional and last much longer.  Hopefully with these helpful tips and my selection of preferred reds below, you'll be wearing you'll be sporting a long-lasting red pout season.
