Beautify Your Bottom Line

Tyra Banks has "smized" (smiled with her eyes) for 21 cycles of America's Next Top Model, and now she's taking her beauty knowledge beyond TV.  First up, her namesake cosmetics company, Tyra Beauty, which offers eye, cheek, and lip products.  To develop it, Banks didn't rely on her supermodel status- she enrolled in Harvard School of Business to study strategy, finance and leadership.  And it looks like all that studying paid off.  The line uses the direct-sell model (like Avon) to empower women in entrepreneurship.  According to Banks, she also "learned 'badassery,' which is doing things bigger, bolder and crazier."  No surprise, she aced that!

Banks, who said she was inspired by her mother's incredible work ethic in order to give her and her brother a better life, is planning to sell the eyeshadows, blushes and face contour exclusively through "BEAUTYTAINMENT." What's that, you ask?  Like a fiercer Avon lady, these Beautytainers will sell directly to consumers — meaning that you won't be able to buy "Sculpt in a Stick" at any Sephora. This, Banks said, "is to give women financial freedom and be empowered all at once."
