The Petite Malle

Large tote bags and girly clutches are so last season at Louis Vuitton.  Their Fall/Winter 14-15 collection, designed by the fashion house's hottest new property, Nicolas Ghesquiere, was unveiled at last spring's Paris Fashion Week when models took to the catwalk carrying the Petite Malle, which is as innovative as it is distinctive.  Drawing inspiration from their luggage and travel heritage, the Petite Malle bag is modeled after their steamer trunks. The ornate structured bag has created such a stir in the fashion community! Here's the price, size, and lots of gorgeous pics of this delectable bag.

The Louis Vuitton Petite Malle comes in a number of different finishes, including monogram canvas, damier ebene, and an array of different colored epi leathers. Cruise 2015 introduced less classic finishes that are not represented in this post. It is a small bag, measuring 7 x 4.75 x 1.5 inches. A magnetic clasp closure keeps belongings safe. The calfskin shoulder strap is long enough for crossbody and is also removable, making this bag suitable for both casual and formal events.
If you are able to locate a super coveted Petite Malle bag in stores, it retails for $5200.

I think that this has got to be one of the most delicious bags that Louis Vuitton ever did. I love how the bag is not only beautiful, but reflects a bit of Louis Vuitton's history. It's both elegant and playful, a challenging balance to achieve!
